    That blue 34 out of Southampton brings back a lot of memories. There wouldn't be a connection to the Carl Zeh - Jim Malone - Don Howe group would there?

    Yep, the first race car Woot worked on was Don's. Age 5 or six. He was the only one that could get his hand in the collector to bolt it to the header. Every race car he's had since has had a 34 on it if he had a choice.

    Thanks for the reply. I am from LI originally. I wrote for several of the trade papers and was the handicapper at Riverhead & Islip from 1979 - 1982. After Jackie Ficara and before Bob Kopplin. I was always a fan of Jim Malone and later Don (Chum). I hope to get back there next year for the old timers reunion at Riverhead.

    Nice to hear from you. I'll tell them you said hi. They don't race anymore. Jimmy retired from work and just has fun. Carl still works and helps his grandson Eric with gocarts www.ericzehracing.tk/, and Chum works with me, kind of, same job different yard.
