I'm hearing there may be a series of 100 lappers for the Modifieds and 2 RoC shows. Man, you guys have got it good at Mahoning for Modified Fans!

Yeah; but what we want there is a Whelen Mod Tour Race !!!!

Did anyone hear if there will be any long distance modified races early in the season? Either 50 or 100 lappers? What about a ROC race?

What would bring in more fans and race teams- roc mod tour or whelen mod tour?

From a promoter's standpoint, which would provide a bigger profit...

An RoC race with a cheaper purse that probably would bring just as many fans as a NWMT race, or a NWMT with a much more expensive purse.

NWMT has gone to Chemung, Holland, and Jennerstown and their car counts were much lower than their core group of tracks.

At Mvs they usally get about 23-30 cars a week ! At Mt. they usally get about 18-20 cars a week! When they have bigger purse races at Mt., they get more cars; at Mvs, they get even more cars and teams for ROC races because they all want to beat the travelers. So my opinion would be have a Whelen show because most of the ROC mods run there weekly anyway when they don't have to travel!

That was the same thinking at Holland (with many of the RoC regulars living nearby). Unfortunately, only a full field was present.

It's worth a shot though if it's never been tried.

B/c WMT is a Nascar series, wouldn't it require MVS to obtain a special license to allow that type of racing?

Not necessarily, but it helps. Touring series have gone to non-NASCAR sanctioned tracks (like the Busch North used to at Thunder Road). When it comes down to it, it all comes to the money.
