    TSS Flash Race Info

I’m hearing from various sources that the flash format is set for TSS, this is what I’ve pieced together. This will only be for TSS and may be tweaked again for Riverhead. We expect an official press release later this after noon.

There will be time trials, 2 – 25 lap heats and a hundred lap feature. The top 20% of the cars entered will be locked in by time trials and will redraw for starting spots. The 2 heats will line up with the odd numbered qualifiers in the first heat and the even numbered in the second. Cautions will not count in the heats or the first 50 laps of the feature.

Remember this is only what I’ve heard. Watch for Richie to post the release this afternoon with the official information.

Ok, So it sounds like, with this plan, say 35 cars show up. The top 7 cars will make it on time, with the balance of the field lined up for heats based on time trials speed. This puts everybody on fairly equal ground as far as qualifying goes. There seems to be an advantage for the 7 cars who qualify via time trials, since they will have 25 less laps on their car come feature time, but I guess thats an advantage for being fast in time trials.

And a suggestion. Maybe have the 2 heat winners participate in the redraw just to give them a chance as well.

    Like that format.

Maybe the TT cars have to go 125 laps!!! lol

BYW somewhere I think I sugested 25 laps heats and 100 lap feature....

I think 1 new tire for the heat race cars would be fair, but we are getting more expensive if we do that.

The Outlaws run a Dash for the top qualified cars, and how they finish that is how they start the feature. I'd doubt any of the Drivers would put any kind of attempt behind it if you ran say a 15 lap dash, so I guess that wouldn't work.

Planning right now to make the full weekend at Monadnock/TSS. Anybody know of a full modified race anywhere up there on Friday? Dirt/Asphalt, either way. Hopefully we'll see a bunch of you up there.

Purse for those who would like to analyze it:

    1st - $2,500 9th - $975 17th - $525 25th - $300
    2nd - $1,800 10th - $950 18th - $500 26th - $300
    3rd - $1,500 11th - $925 19th - $475 27th - $300
    4th - $1,300 12th - $800 20th - $425 28th - $300
    5th - $1,200 13th - $700 21st - $400 29th - $300
    6th - $1,100 14th - $650 22nd - $350 30th - $300
    7th - $1,050 15th - $600 23rd - $327
    8th - $1,000 16th - $575 24th - $300

$3000 less than Wall Township purse paid.

Also to note, no heat race money, and you can only buy 4 tires the entire day. Heat race cars will be permitted to buy one tire.

NOTE: ALL TIRES USED FOR TIME TRIALS MUST BE PURCHASED AT THE TRACK. Only four (4) tires will be
permitted for use during the entire Event. Cars competing in the qualifying races who advance to the Feature will have
the option of one (1) extra tire for the Event.

Heard a rumor that a couple of teams are making the trip from NHIS to TSS on Friday for some practice... and because it's MORE then 7 days, really makes sense for the teams to do it. Anyone else hear who or any more info like this?

It would be tough if not impossible to do unless you had a second car. The unleaded fuel issue will keep you from using your NHIS car at TSS.

about 10-13 from the entry list might have 2 cars, but then the logistics of getting everything reloaded to leave on Friday. no not impossible, PITA, yes.
