    nhis insight needed

I am planning to go to NHIS and arriving late morning Saturday. I shouldn't have a problem getting tickets at the window will I? which section has the best view I usually like the turn four area. Hope to see a bunch of you at the track....Chris

Chris, I know there are general admission tickets on Sat (Maybe all of them are, I'm not sure). Only the main and Concord (1st turn) grandstands are open Sat. I'd lean toward sitting between the S/F line and turn 1 in the main grandstand - the faster cars pit that end, but turn four is good also. (I'll probably shoot turn 3 and 4). Get as high as you can and you can easily see just about all of the track nicely. With it being G/A, you can always try moving around to a few different areas. Plan on a very long walk from the parking area, a lot of people bring wagons to carry their coolers and stuff to the stands and lock them to the fence outside.

There will be tickets available at the gate. I won't be there this time, but my buds and I love the view in Turn 1. Especially on restarts, and sling shot passes, which are frequent at NHIS.

Here are a couple of shots from turn 1 to help you decide.

The 5th shot was taken from a very low(about row 8) Vantage point before I moved up to about row 35 or so.

I would concur with Ted. Last year I sat in turn one abt row 30 or so and it was very good. You cannot see much of turn 3/4, but it was OK by me.

    Bring binoculars.
Pork Roll is very important to me. Please respect that.

    Turn 1 for sure

Just sit high enough in turn one so you can see the whole track. We like to sit so they are coming straight at you down the front stretch its awesome.

    Hey Chris -

If its turn 4 you want...go down to the begining of the main grand stand. You'll only have to go up about 1/2 way - (Trust me...its a long slog to the top! Hope you have a healthy heart!!! They usually have the Laconia GS roped off for everything but the NEXTEL Race.)

Believe me, no matter where you plant your butt, you WILL have a very panoramic view of the track - bring binoculars...I ain't kidding. A scanner IS a good thing to have too, BTW.

As somebody else said, "its a long walk" from the parking lot...and NHIS is deceivingly big....its a long walk to anywhere on the grounds. Bring ice and a towel to dip in the ice...NHIS can also be a very HOT place. (Its nice & cool under the media center - nice breeze, too.)

    Enjoy your day! Rich

We can do that if anyone is interested. Somewhere between the main and Concord grandstand always worked well. We'll be there early, so anytime is OK I guess.
