Islip Speedway, late 50s/early 60s. Rest I don't know. Railroad rails and poles surrounding the track for the "chicken wire" and cables gives away the track as Islip. (?) LOL

Noted. I should really look at what forum I am in. I just use the "NewPost" button all the time. Still looks like Islip, LOL. Then again, it just might be wishful thinking.

    Dexter Park

That sure looks like Dexter Park. I have a list of the car numbers and drivers somewhere here but I can't find it right now.

OLDRACER is right about Dexter Park race track.

OLDRACER is right about Dexter Park race track.
Since I'm from the Virginia, neither heard of Dexter Park race track. I search the web. I got Marty Himes website with an excellent article on Dexter Park's baseball and racing history.
    http://www.flyinbryan.com/himes/stor...HimesStory.jpg

Auto racing started at Dexter Park in 1951 and ended at the end of 1955 season. 1/4 mile, 3 turns race track in which race cars could race up to 70 mph.
Because of complaints from neighbors, all racecars were required to have mufflers.
The article didn't tell why the race track closed up in 1955???

Photo # 1. Is a article photo of race driver Axel Anderson sitting in the "Uncle Axel" # 590 race car holding the (Mobil Oil Racing Gasoline)(Red Flying Horse logo) (8 black squares blocks + 8 white square blocks = 16 B&W squares blocks) victory checkered flag. Also holding the checkered flag is Dexter Park flagman Myke Collins.

Photo # 2. and Photo # 3. ( No. 1-4, shows same poles, fencing materials), (No.5 shows same black striped that was painted on the white painted wooded guardrails.)

    Photo # 4. wide shot of Photo # 3.

The model and year of # 438 Race Car? slightly used 1938 Plymouth Coupe?
Who's the Driver? Sal Franzese??? Jim Lacy???
Who's the # 438 Race Car Owner? Sal Franzese???
    What's the Year? 1955?
Where's the Race Track? Dexter Park race track
