Ray Hendrick won. No Long Islanders in the top ten. I'm pretty sure thats the race that Bruno Brackey was badly burned in and steered the flaming #69 car into the infield lake riding on the rubrail. He won the Qualifier for that race here at Weissglass Stadium on Staten Island that year.

The #43 was, of course, "Gramps"...Bill Greco!

While Fred Harbach set a new record in Time Trials it was Tommie Elliott who sat on the pole. Winners of qualifying races at eastern tracks got preferred spots. That rule sucked and was the cause of a huge pile up in 1965. No matter what the rules Hendrick owned Trenton and the '68 win upped his record to 3 wins and 2 seconds in five starts in the Trenton 200. He missed the '67 race when it was postponed twice and he had a conflict. On the third date he was committed to run a GN car for Emanuel Zervakis at Martinsville and Donnie Allison subbed for him in the Tant-Mitchell #11 and finished 2nd to Bugsy Stevens.

That was definately a great race! Trenton was (is) my all time favorite race track. With the covered grandstands and the sound of 60 modifieds with no mufflers it was awesome. And thanks to Howie and Mary Hodge we've got pictures of that great day!

The '67 Trenton race was a classic too! With Ed Brunnhoelzl starting on the pole. Lee Roy Yarbrough drove Don Houses' XL-1 and Man was Bill Dennis fast in that #54!
