Nice find, J.D. Bugsy Stevens and Geoffrey Bodine were having a good battle for the lead, but Richie Evans was coming. Hope the finish gets posted soon. Thanks.

    Very cool.

That was a few years before I ever got to a race there but it brough back memories of those trips from LI sitting on the Cross Bronx.

The cool fall days , the street stock race before, the mod race, the 30,000+ fans and walking throgh the pits after the race.

    Who's got a time machine?

    Thanks for posting

I have a question about this one. Is it a Spring or Summer race, since the Mods didn't go to Pocono for the Roc until they were all Pinto, Vega or Gremlin bodied cars?

I was just curious. I went up to a "scheduled" Spring race there in the early 80's, but it got rained out, and was never rescheduled. And none were ever scheduled after that ever again.

That had to be one of the early 70's 150 lappers. If you recall the yellow #09 that was Bryan Osgood from upstate N.Y. He won two of those early Pocono races. IIRC, they were mid summer races. Great video!

Yeah, I drove all night from Riverhead, slept in my van with a couple of friends, and we woke up to rain (and Pocono mud), and no rescheduled race. Bummer!!!
