There's actually three coupes in the video! The brown-primed coupe is definately Dan McNamara in Joel McElearney's #98! Not sure who is in the yellow coupe and there is a blue coupe that looks like possibly Gardners' 86; maybe Al Hanson?

If dan mac is in the primer coupe which i agree than who is in the 71 white pinto. The blue coupe should be Al Hansen.

The yellow coupe I think is Tom Baldwin, the blue coupe looks like Gary Crettys car

The #71 pinto is Wayne Anderson. I don't think that is Baldwins yellow coupe, the one in the video seems to have a very high stance and Tommy's was pretty low.

There are Four Coupes! After a little investigation, I've come to the conclusion that there are actually two yellow coupes in the video. Just as the cars start to hot-lap, Tom Baldwin passes by in the #7 coupe followed by the other yellow coupe driven by Mike Tully #82. It's very hard to see in the YouTube video, but the original video played on Windows Media Player is so much clearer, even in full screen.

    My first post here!

I don't post much anyway(I'm from the MSS board) but at least it will be something to do with Islip. What a great video and I know I wasn't there since I never made any practice days back then. The x3 pinto without an X that was fun. My 2cents, I would like to thanks Howie for holding on to MSS for the time he did. Also Thank him for the x3 picture too. So I guess I'll pull up a chair. My profile picture is the x3 vega pace lap for TD35.

Is it possible to get a copy of the WMV version of the video?

There are many places where it can be hosted for free on the internet, and I would love to see the clear version.

I have been informed that the second yellow coupe in the video is, in fact, the #82 of Mike Tully. The car itself is a 38 Olds Coupe that was purchased from Bill Park. Park won the 1971 Islip Rookie of the Year title in that car, though he never won a feature with it. Park sold the car and went on to drive the Peters #33 white Pinto prior to building his own white and gold Vega that was later debuted at Islip.

    Thanks BF!
