    S.M.A.R.T./Whelen Southern Modified Tour History

A list of all races and race winners in tour history. Can anyone help me out with race distances or car #'s. Did Jay Hedgecock ever win a race in anything other than #41 on the tour? Did Junior Miller ever win in anything other than #69? How about Jay Foley and the #57? What was the Riggs Racing # for Tim Arre's time in the car? Did Philip Smith race the #1 and then turn the wheel over to Gary Myers? If so, what was Gary's # before #1? Frank Fleming and the #07 or #38? Thanks in advance if anyone has info.

I believe Riggs number was 56 when Tim Arre drove for them.

Philip Smith drove the #1 and when he retired it was right about the same time Burt Myers started racing Modifieds in 1996 if I recall correctly. The number 4 is the Myers family number. Back in the 1950s Billy drove the 4. Gary drove the 4 in the late 1970s in the Cup Series and started his Modified career in 1980 and drove the #4 til he gave it up to son Burt and drove the #1 after Philip retired. Gary occasionally would drive a #0 as a team car to Philip.

Most if not all races were 150 laps. Maybe a couple 200 lappers in there as well

Not that I am aware of.

Frank Fleming and the #07 or #38?
Frank was in the Wilson-Inman 40 in 1989.

Most were 150's.....I believe a few of the season ending races at Caraway were 200's but I don't recall which ones.

Was Junior Miller always in the #69 even before the Riggs days? Gary Myers in the #4 until 1996? Bobby Hutchens always #14? Anything other than #57 for Foley or #07 for Fleming beyond '89? Thanks.

junior miller is 69 because he started racing at bgs in 1969... so he had no other number, until he drove 53 for puddin swisher, then switched back to 69..
he's done spot duty in other cars, but i don't recall which numbers.. except ruperts sinks 44 in one race...

i've got a list of the southern tour all time winners in the NSS program...

I saw a picture of Junior Miller in the #56 Riggs car in Howie's 1996 photo archive. Did he race that number all year. In the archive photos beyond '96, he is in the same car just numbered 69. Anyone know what # Tony J won for while with Riggs in '89? Or what Ralph Brinckley's number may have been in '92 when he won the tour race at Bowman Gray?

Tony Jankowiak's wins were with #73 and #99. I believe the win with Riggs came in the #99.
Junior Miller ran both #56 and #69 in 1996 if I remember correctly.

Thank you all. Here is what I think is a completed list minus the actual lap #'s for each race. If anything is off let me know.

Tony Jankowiak's '89 Pulaski victory came in his own #73.
His only victory in the Bill Potts #99 came at New Smyrna, FL in '90 before his fatal Stafford accident in April.
