Lets face it for northern teams to haul down there for three days the expenses out way the purse. If you win it might cover the expenses but if you finish outside the top three you would not doubt be wasting your time.If you don't believe it just go back and look at the payoff for places 3 thru say 10.Its just like the TVMRS if you win fine if not I can't see how teams can even afford to do it.
It is sad if it has come to Northern teams not showing up for this race because it had become one of the best races for the mods with the amount of competition that began to show up annually. Maybe if there is a significant downfall in the amount of teams that show up they can get it right next year?
a 3 day show and concord the next week, big mistake
Anybody got a detailled schedule of what's going on which day??

Worst economy in 60 years. Job losses at an all time high. Yeah it makes a helluva lot of since to make racing more expensive per weekend. I swear, I wish I had the intelligence that these morons have. I haven't sit down and figured it all up, but I would imagine that you would have to pretty much win the race to even come close to breaking even. Thats if if you live here.
then on top of that the first two races of the year frost bite and caraway they are using different tires from one week to the next
In defense of the Frost Bite, first it is an ASA sanction race, and second they went with close to the most inexpensive option on tires. Their purse is a little better as well. They also did away with the heats and went with a two day qualifying option. Obviously all cost cutting moves. Should be a great day and hopefully a good race. I hope it is the same for Caraway the following week, but i have my doubts.
Teams don't have to be there at Caraway on Friday, do they? It is just an optional parking deal, right?
I look forward to Orange County this weekend and a double header of South Boston on Saturday and Caraway on Sunday next weekend.
Just read the purses posted by Ben what a joke when will people figure it out it doesn't cover he expenses to go.The economic times of today nobreaks for the fans at the gate,no help for the teams just The great sanctioning body and the tracks getting fatter and fatter.I know I sound like a broken record but the truths the truth.
What are they charging to get in the pits this weekend?
This is just a guess but from in the past $30.00 with $25.00 if you got NASACR licence. That is just for 1 day.The price will be posted on Caraway website soon.Grandstands are $10.00 on saturday and $20.00 sunday.
So, this is $60 for the weekend or $50 if you have Nascar license. I know we have paid that much at Thompson to get in, but we are running for $6,000 to win. At Caraway we are running for $2,000 to win.
On the Caraway Speedway website it says the price will be $20.00 for race day $10 for qualifying day.
