07/12/09 - Updates, Sunny and Cool at Spencer

Pit gates open in 20 minutes and it is a beautiful day. Bright blue skies, not a cloud to be seen but cool, only a high of 70-75 today!

Rick was telling me that there is a 5:00 PM curfew for today and can't race past it...hopefully they start around 3:00 and get the entire race in. Jake Marosz won't be driving his race car because he had to come back to CT for his son's wedding today (it's the anniversary of their first date). He brought the car up there hoping it wouldn't get rained out, but was able to get Buck Catalano to drive for him today. Jake drove home in one of the crew's car and they will have to get "The Jakemobile" , as I call it, back to CT themselves. Many thanks to Buck for helping Jake out!!! Thank goodness we are like a two car team (#33 & #9) because Rick's team will help out today as the teams always work well together.

With the free time last night, Rick, Wade and Teddy toured the Webster area making the best of their downtime. Rick said the lake area is beautiful up there. They were able to get an awesome Prime Rib dinner, Wade's favorite, at a small restaurant in Webster, and Wade got his ice cream he so loves.

Jaws sent a message that the #99 may have blown his motor in practice.
If any more info comes on anything, it will be in this thread.
