The fire suit depends on what track you will be running.

    For instance:

At Wall, NJ state law requires a minimum single layer fire suit (it can be either 1 or 2 piece for Enduros) and you are also required to wear Nomex underwear.

At Grandview we require a fire suit but there are no specs...it cannot be a fire retardant jacket and jeans that is for sure but some kind of a fire suit is required.

I am sure others will post what they have but I wanted to give you the minimum requirements for both tracks first....

    Take care!

I'v always used a one piece two layer suit. A step safer than required and you can't argue with that. It's still only worth a couple more seconds protection, but that could be all I need to keep my skin.

It all comes down to preference. Larry bought his 2 piece during his Demo Derby days and I bought my single layer one piece right after my first ladies race in '07 when I said to Larry "that was fun!"... and the rest is history! The nomex is coming soon so I don't have to borrow anymore... Checking around for the best prices- not too much cheaper getting wholesale either.

With a 1 piece, you can't lose the other half... AND you won't have THIS problem....

There are always numerous safety equipment vendors at the AARN motorsports show. Its in Oaks PA this year Jan 22-24. Its a good place to try on and price compare. I also agree with wj buy the best you can afford. phil

Triple layer, one piece since five and added under wear at twelve. you may only get one chance to test it.

pretty much the cheapest thing you can get.

Add some undies...funny looking but very comfortable

    and you're protected for $200.

5-layer for about $300...(just found 'em)
