    New tracks for 2009

Did anyone go to any tracks for the first time this past year?

For me, the highlights were Bristol, Concord and Bowman Gray.

Also, got to Wyoming Speedway for the first time

And finally got to Atlantic City for the indoor show in January.

This year I obviously made my first trip to Shangri-La 2. I love seeing a track back in the Southern Tier of NY. I look forward to seeing what improvements are made to the facility in 2010. I think with a softer tire on the Mods, the track can widen out a bit. Please, please, please have a few R.o.C. events in 2010 as well.
I also made my first trip to Sundance Vacations Speedway. Although the .5 mile plus tracks bring out the best of the speed & sound of the Mods, the 1/3 mile & less tracks but on some great racing. There were multiple grooves at this very race facility. The view that I had from atop the photo stand in turn 1 was one of the best that I have had at any track.
With my relocation to NYC, I hope to make my first visits to Stafford, Waterford, Wall, Albany-Saratoga & Riverhead in 2010.

Both New Tracks Shangri La 2 and Chemung in the same day was definately one of the highlights of my season.

Also, my first 2 trips to Mountain we certainly enjoyed.

I'm counting Bristol, even though i'd been there 30 times before for taxi cabs, as the mods kicked you know what there.
    I Love The Modifieds!!!!!

While it's not a track I would like to say that Open Wheel Wednesday marked the very first Mod. race I had ever seen. Maine does not like Mod. racing, I figured if nobody ever talked about it, it must not be that great so I never went up to Beech Ridge for the TV mods, or Oxford for the TV Mods. There was always something else going on. I was bored on a Wed. night and decided to go to Seekonk, I never looked back.

    My first time tracks---

    Stafford
    Thompson
    Wall Speedway
    Seekonk Speedway
    Hudson Speedway
    White Mountain Motorsports Park

My hopes for next season first time tracks

    Monadnock
    Waterford
    Concord N.C
    Riverhead
    Shangri-La 2
    Albany Saratoga
    Devils Bowl
Spud Speedway (PASS Tour in September)
Autodrome Ste-Eustach (30 mi. outside of Montreal)

Yup! It was long over due. Been through Winston-Salem dozens of times. It just never worked out that we were there on race day, during the season, or could stop. Glad we finally got there but it would have been nice if we'd been there "back in the day" too.
