    Long Layoff

    I guess it's time to go back to hibernation until July.

    That's what I hate about the NASCAR Southern schedule. You go almost three months between races so that they can protect BGS. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the weekly BGS hoopla.

    These are the times when I wish the ASA SMRT deal had succeeded.

    I'm hoping the IMCA style Rolling Thunder Mods can pick up their car count this year. Their first show is tomorrow night at Langley. I'm hearing the potential for 18-20 cars. Could be a good show.

    Also, for those who don't mind a little dirt with their mods, the AMRA Spring Special will be at Eastside Speedway next weekend (4/24). AMRA runs the UMP style mod and usually brings a great car count.

    Yeah...it's the big drawback to the southern tour. Perhaps one day NASCAR will schedule against BGS, but as long as many of the top cars down here run BGS weekly it wouldn't work.

    As for the other deal.....nah......I'm not going there.
