Comments from Ron Silk after practice completed:
"It (the track did not change a whole lot, at least from beginning to end. It is hard for me to tell because we changed a whole lot of stuff. I made sure that I went out real quick and set rounds to see how it was with the Busch (K&N Pro Series) rubber. Hopefully we will get up to the speed we had with practice. It will be tough because we have an early draw but we will see how it goes."

Bobby Santos thoughts of the track after practice: “It (Martinsville Speedway) is a fun. I like this place. I am looking forward to racing here. I will just to see what happens.”

How ws the car during practice: “The first practice we were scuffing tires and brakes but by the end of practice we got going better with the car. We are right there. We should be good.”

Jeff Fuller is in the pits today working with the #71 modified team.
Here is are some thoughts from Jeff:
“It is great to be at Martinsville. It is also great to be back with the modifieds and seeing all the people and everything. I have not been here in a lot of years. My brother Bobby is helping his son Robby my nephew. I might spot for him. I am trying to make it a little easier for him.”

Would you like to be in a modified driving now? “Yes maybe here or Bristol I would love to be in a car.” If someone were to offer you a ride would you? “Why wouldn’t I?”

What is your most memorable experience of Martinsville? “ One, I would say the first grandfather clock that we received. But the most memorable I believe it was in 1991. I lost my oldest brother George. And we had Greg Sacks qualify the car. I was out in Australia and I won out in the Thunder Dome. I flew back so I had to start last. Greg did a decent job qualifying the car but I had to start last and we won the race in my brother’s memory. To win two races on two different continents on the same day was a pretty good feat and I would say that has to take the highlight of Martinsville.”

I caught Rowan Pennink as he relaxed in the garage area waiting for qualifying to start.
“We just have to start fresh Get out there and try to stay out of trouble. We think that we have a pretty good race car today so we will see how time trials go.”

Was the team able to get the tour car repaired from Stafford Speedway NWMT race last Friday? “We are actually racing the car that we banged up a little bit at Stafford. The other car that we flipped over (Thunder Road MRS race) is in the trailer for back up car. We got them (cars) all fixed up over the week.

Burt Myers thought running at Martinsville Speedway with NWMT in his territory.
” I love coming here, whether it is a southern or northern race. It is still a modified race. I love participating in any kind of races here. I also like running with these northern guys. We will see what we got for them.”

Is Burt Myers heading to Bowman Gray Stadium after NWMT qualifying? “ Oh, yeah. After we get out of here we are going to jump in the van and get down there as fast as we can. And hopefully we can get a couple of laps of practice in before qualifying.”

Will you be escorted down to Bowman Gray? “We may try to pull a couple of favor or two of some the deputies to get out of here fairly quick. I think that the time that we are getting out of here we should be all right as far as the traffic is concerned. We will just keep our fingers crossed and hope we can get down there.”

Ok readers remind you of the “Dukes of Hazard”?

Andy Seuss is here with the #70 NWMT car.
After practice: “It (car) is going to be alright. We had a pretty good car in the long runs. We expected to be better. But we think that we had an issue with a set of tires. But we are not really sure. We were happy with the car in the long runs. Hopefully we get a little bit better than it was in practice.
