Racing Really is a Family Sport
If you were a Modified fan in the late 70s and early 80s, the names Mr. Excitement and Gentleman Jim all always hold a place in your heart. Now all these years later, the Spencer and Zacharias families are joining forces. Grandson of the legendary Jim Zacharias, Jimmy Zacharias, the 2010 Modified champion at both the Chemung Speedrome and Shangri- La II Speedways will be joining forces for the upcoming Frostbite 5 event in the Mountain Madness Enduro Series at Mountain Speedway on January 8th.
"This is an exciting opportunity to be in an Enduro car, I would like to thank Larry and his entire family", said Zacharias. This ride came about when Lucky Ducky Racing driver Larry Spencer III saw Zacharias expressing interest in running the race. "When someone the lights of Jimmy Z. expresses interest in racing it was only a no-brainer to make things happen and get him in the car", said Spencer.
Both Larry and Jimmy both show aggressive nature on the track, and that’s the very reason why these drivers get along so well. The Frostbite enduro will certainly be a race to come out and welcome in the New Year!
Zacharias closed out the conversation by saying "I'm going balls out…if you ain’t first your last!"
