BETHEL, NY – There seems to be no shortage of drivers looking to turn some laps on the newly repaved surface at Bethel Motor Speedway in the 2011 season. The speedway office announced this week that the track would play host to the 4C Super Modifieds on Saturday, May 28th.

“We raced at the track several years ago,” stated the 2010 4C Super Modified champion Wes Gilbert, who also handles scheduling for the series. “We are all excited about the chance to get back to the track, especially with the new asphalt. We are looking forward to putting on a good show for the fans.”

The 4C Super Modifieds are scaled-down versions of Super Modifieds such as those that run on the ISMA Super Modified Tour. They run a 600cc motor, utilizing pump gas. Their tires are Hoosier racing slicks. Other tracks that the traveling division races at include Mahoning Valley Speedway (PA) and Shenandoah Speedway (VA). More information about the 4C Super Modifieds can be found online at www.4csupermodifieds.com.

“We are happy to be able to bring the 4C Super Modifieds back to Bethel after quite a few years of absence,” said Bethel’s Business Operations Manager Tracy Chirico. “We think it will be an experience that both the drivers and the fans will enjoy.”

Bethel Motor Speedway is a 1/4-mile asphalt oval located just four miles from the site of the original Woodstock Music Festival in White Lake, New York. The speedway presents racing every Saturday night from late April until early October, with $5 grandstand admission. The track will boast a new racing surface for the 2011 season, as more than 450 tons of asphalt was laid following the 2010 season. Weekly divisions include dirt Sportsman, Pro Stocks, Street Stocks, BMS Modifieds, 4 Cylinders, and Bandoleros. INEX Legends are on the schedule regularly, including LegendStock, one of the most prestigious Legends races in the country. More information about Bethel Motor Speedway is available at
