Bring back irish mike 317
Mike is more than welcome to go back. Rules state, no welding. Group inspection. I went to Middletown, NY for a fair demo. Rules stated no welding, no reinforcement, no Chevy motors in a Ford. What showed up. Fords with Chevy motors, rolled and tucked. The track officials decided to let them run. So, Myself, and 2 other drivers put our cars back on the trucks and came home. The track rules are clearly stated. If you want to race at so and so track, these are our rules. If you don't like our rules, go to a track whose rules, (Or lack thereof) that you do like. The choice is his. Personally, the less work you have to do on a car, puts it more in the drivers hands. Anyone can weld up a tank. A driver can win with a Chevette. Oh, just to make things clear. I like Mike O'Keefe a lot. We've helped each other out over the years. He CAN drive. He has my respect.
Consistancy is the key.
Bring back gravel ! I want 2 see a good demo not the bs we have been seeing! Cheese box please help out as well!
Bring back Long John Silver also !
Irish mike, cheesebox, long john, oliver, whiplash, eugene, big mack speedo & every other old school driver.. it would be nice to see the legends come & help save the demos at riverhead but 4 some of these guys they would rather see them die 2 prove a point.. when the rules weren't enforced I showed up, I didn't cry like some & now that they are enforced, I'm still here.. 2 be the best ya gotta beat the best... I hope they're all here on the 17th..
make it and old time demo run what you bring
A lot of the older drivers not coming back has to do with two things: some of them are getting older, their bodies can't handle the abuse as easily and maybe their brains are finally starting to grow a little bit, or they just don't like the rules. Some people hate no weld demos with a passion, they like building their welded tanks. That's why in a previous thread I suggested have a trial run with two classes, stock chain and bang and a full weld class, see which has more support from drivers. I've run with several of the drivers listed both before and after rule enforcement and I always had a great time. Championship is open to everyone. The more that come the merrier.
I was tempted to "borrow" your Chrysler for this past sat night Gravel, good thing it stayed parked I guess lol. I hope you stick to it and really run the 17th. I just wish I could run too.
I would've had to kill you.
Consistancy is the key.
The plan is to be there on the 17th. As long as I walk out with a smile on my face, I'm a winner.

gravel-i will bring your wheel-chair
with a welded front bumper
Riverhead rules state, "No welding!!"
Don't feel bad about not being included in the Legends category, Tim. You'll get there.
