    Wild Bill Slater

    I just received an email informing me that Bill Slater passed away this morning. I will post more info as it becomes available. RIP Bill.

    A sad day.. a real legend and an icon of modified racing - I loved the fact he was still hangin round the tack and at the gate for so many years.. RIP Bill.. Godspeed.

    Years ago my dad won a raffle prize at some party, probably at Stafford. The bottle and box got ruined when we got some water in the basement, but the note, I was able to save. RIP Mr. Slater!!Click image for larger version.

    Sad Day,I grew up in Norwood and as long as my chores were done I got to go to races,Bill was my favorite driver as a kid and we would always talk as I came thru the gate at Stafford many years later.He was a true racer from the "ole days"and will be missed.RIP Mr Slater!
