So now we are going to claim that the transponders can't tell time on here? The 47 was parked after his third spin. This board could turn my great grandmothers 100th birthday into a negative.
    Yeah I am.

I guess you are getting this promoter gig down pretty quick. Anyone with a watch can tell you the race started at around 8:30pm and the checkered flew at around 10:55 pm. I guess only in a promoter's world would that equate to an hour and a half.

My raw video files have timestamps in them from when the recording is started. Went back to take a look just to see. I believe it was actually the pre-race ceremonies that had started at 8:30 (which is how it was scheduled). The video file where I started filming the announcer and Mario Fiore coming to say Start your Engines is listed as 6-16-2012_210249 First half obviously the date, second half the time in military time 21:02;49 or 9:02 and 49 seconds.

Then the video file where I was walking onto the track with the announcer as Hirschman rolled up with the checkered flag is 6-16-2012_224230 so that puts us at roughly 10:42, the race had already ended a few minutes prior to this because this is when the top 3 were lining up on track for victory lane. That puts us at 1 hour and 40 minutes from firing engines to cars rolling up for victory lane.

So the transponder system can tell time after all. Imagine that. Thanks Dave for the extra work to verify this. I really appreciate it!

The cars were actually on the track at a little after 8pm, and took the green at close to 8:30 pm.

Using transponders is ok if you are counting caution laps, but as anyone who was at Star knows, the caution laps where not counted to keep cars making pit stops from going a lap down. With all the yellows, anyone finishing on the lead lap actually ran a lot more that the 125 laps shown at the top of this thread.

About 6 hrs to run a card where the main event is 125 laps and 28 cars attempted to qualify - I guess some people would try to say that's not excessive.

Caution laps weren't counted but the transponders overall time kept running. Fast time in qualifying was under 13 seconds. Let's use 15 seconds as an easy number to use (which will actually inflate the time a bit in favor of you). 15x125 is 1875 seconds, divided by 60 we get 31 minutes and 15 seconds. Even rounding the lap times up, the 125 green laps still gets nowhere near the transponder time, that time had to be from green to checkered, cautions included.
