What a fantastic event last night was. The event of the year IMO. A packed house and a packed pit area that was a who's who of modified racing both present and past. A tip of the cap has to go to all of the PA and western NY teams that made the long haul to Seekonk. It was good seeing the 3 and Eric Beers reunited and charging to the front once again. Good clean racing all evening. That is a good thing too for the MRS teams that are heading to Monadnock tomorrow night. The NEMA race was very exciting too. Congrats to all those involved.

I virtually agree Mac - I read through the coverage on Speed51 (I think, can't find it now) and I really wished I were there. Lots of really good names in the field, a few surprises - heat races that actually meant something and cars in the consi's that really must have made for a great night of action. With names like McKennedy, Summers, Meservey, Holdridge in the B-main you can tell this was a quality field.

No it's not the tour (names) and it doesn't have to be - just reading the coverage made me think this was a really great event, one with throw back feel.. Great job to the participants, organizers and fans that supported the event. I hope there are more in the future.

Just goes to show ya, there are plenty of Modifieds out there wanting to race for decent cash and incentives.

If you are planning to go to the Sunday, Sept 13 NorthEast Race Cars Tri Track Open Modified Series race at The New London-Waterford Speedbowl , and if you are going up the night before to either practice or watch the races, I have reserved a block of 20 rooms for Saturday night, Sept 12 at the Red Roof Inn New London . However, to get in on this block of rooms, you must call 1-800 - THE ROOF by August 12. Right now, rooms come in two types, 2 full beds ($93+, king bed ($93+),( already 8 rooms have been taken). you have to hold the room with a credit card but I believe you can cancel it up until 6 pm on the day of your stay. If you call and your room is not available, let me know and I will try to arrange for more rooms. When you call that number, you need to tell them you are looking to book a room under the block of rooms with the code B145NLWSB1 . To help me out, please post on here or send me a private message if you are going to take up this offer. We will be doing this again for the October race with a slightly different code.
