When the first Tri Track Open Modified Series race of the season goes green on Saturday, May 26 at Claremont Speedway, there will be a few bonus awards on the line.

Michael Jaworecki has informed me that Myracenews has put up $106 to the first Troyer across the line in memory of Maynard Troyer, who passed away recently.

Also, one lucky fan will be chosen ( see me at the t shirt sales table before the race) to hand out $100 to the driver they feel deserves it most ( up to the lucky fan to decide the criteria) This fan award is in loving memory of Rick Gerdik who passed away recently. His daughter Maria Gerdik and her dad were regulars at Riverhead Raceway, Wall Stadium and Thompson Speedway. He was always saying the fans should get involved more and this is a way of seeing that wish fulfilled.

The Red Roof Inn bonus at our first race will be some extra money to 3 teams that don't qualify for the feature.

In addition to this, Sherwood Racing Products is back with the Tri Track Open Modified Series in 2018. At each race, two wheels will be given away to 2 teams that are pre registered for the entire 4 race series. One wheel will go to the car that is our "Hard Charger" and leads the most laps in the feature race. The other wheel will go to our "Hard Luck" team - as chosen by Jim Schaefer ( usually this is chosen after the heats/ consis and goes to a team that doesn't qualify for the feature)
