Then head to The New London-Waterford Speedbowl Saturday evening Sept 12 ( spend the night at the Red Roof Inn ) and spend Sunday,Sept 13 watching the Dunleavy Truck & Trailer Repair 100 at the Speedbowl. To any teams planning on going to the Speedbowl - Make sure you contact Dan at Hoosier Tire East to pre order tires. Do it ASAP to make sure you get the tires you want.

I am still waiting on the official schedule but looks like there will be optional practice for the modifieds both Saturday afternoon and evening of the 12th. Then again, from 12 to 1250 on Sunday. Heats should go green either at 1:00 or most likely 1:30 . We are planning on the feature race to go green by 4:30.

For those coming up to watch the races from Long Island, the Cross Sound Ferry runs hourly in the morning on Sunday. Also , there are boats returning in the evening hourly at 6. 7 , 7:30, 8 and 8:45.

Sea jet runs at 8 and 10 in the morning and returns at 7pm at night.

Leave your car parked in Orient and get a cab for about $20 in New London.

Dennis Girardin has just announce that Broad Brook Heating and Cooling will put up an extra $500 to either Chris Pasteryak, Matt Hirschman, or Richard Savary if they should win this coming Sept 13 race

Each of those drivers has won a Tri Track race this year already, and this extra bonus could make another victory even sweeter.

The October 25 NorthEast Race Cars Tri Track Open Modified Series will have a very different format.

    1. Non points race

    2. Three modified races in all. Twin 35 lap "qualifying" features will pay out $3000 to win each. 11 in each "qualifier" will transfer. Most others will be sent home with $400 tow money.

    3. "Feature race" will be 65 laps. $5000 to win .

    4. There will be 4 provisionals. If our winners this year, do not transfer from their "qualifier", they will start at the rear. If they make it in the show, we will add cars based on the points of this season.

    5. 34 teams that supported our first two shows at Lee and Monadnock ( tracks we rented) will receive our special thanks and a bonus of $200.

    6. "Qualifying features" will be done by random draw. So, if 40 cars come, there would be 20 in each "qualifier" and someone may be unlucky to draw number 20, as will some lucky person start on the pole for 35 laps.

    7. However, when it's time to line up for the 65 lap feature, there will be a twist. Basically, with out doing the math... if you started up front in your "qualiifier", you are starting deep in the field for the 65 lap race... and the opposite.. if you started way back in say 20th in the "qualifier", chances are you are starting up on the pole ( as long as you qualified in the top 11 in your "qualifier" )

    8. Approx. $60,000 will be handed out to teams for this format.

    1 3000 1 5000
    2 2000 2 3000
    3 1500 3 2500
    4 1000 4 2000
    5 800 5 1500
    6 700 6 1000
    7 650 7 800
    8 600 8 700
    9 550 9 600
    10 500 10 500
    11 450 11-26 400
    12-end 400
