Stock car teams to get track time on April 15

Lancaster National Speedway has scheduled a practice session for the X-Press Signs Stock Car Series on Saturday, April 15 from 4-7 p.m.

The practice session will give race teams from around the area a chance to shake down their race cars before the season-opening Queen City Clash on Saturday, April 22.

"We have been looking at track preparation, along with the weather and we decided it would feasible to open up a week early to allow our stock car teams some preseason track time," said Tim Packman, Track President.

The back gate will open at 2 p.m. on April 15 to allow teams to go through safety tech inspection before taking the track. All cars must be inspected beforehand, there are no exceptions.

Pit admission will cost $15 for the practice session. Sunoco Racing fuel will be available for purchase. Bob Mullen of East Coast Speed will have Sportsman and Street Stock tires available at the track that day for purchase as well. Sportsman teams will be able to purchase four tires, which will count towards their initial 12 tires to start the season. Sportsman teams can buy a limit of four new tires directly from East Coast Speed in Batavia, N.Y. the week before the practice, which will also count towards the initial 12 to start the season.

Grandstand admission is free for any fans wanting to come watch the practice session. Concession stands will be open during the day.

Race teams entering the back gate for practice are encouraged to remain in their vehicles and will be processed in a "drive-thru" style. Trailer doors will be asked to be opened.

The “Queen City Clash” opener for the X-Press Signs Stock Car Series is Saturday, April 22 and is followed by the Race of Champions Modified Series “Fans in the Stands 75” on Saturday, April 29; both are 2 p.m. starts. The Franco’s Pizza Friday Night Drag Racing season kicks off with a Test n’ Tune on Friday, April 28 and points begin on Friday, May 5.
