This past Saturday, Monadnock Speedway held their annual test and tune session for the home track competitors and visiting tours. The pits were filled with a lot of activity with mostly all divisions represented along with a strong field of Modified Touring Series competitors taking advantage to shake down their cars prior to the big event this Saturday.

The speedway’s feature division, the Sportsman Modifieds, were well represented in the test and tune session as eighteen teams took the track. This division will be a mix of experience and rookies with the championship title up for grabs. The 2016 champion, Bill Kimball, will not be competing this season as he has handed the race machine down to his son Matt who will be one of several rookies entering into competition this year. This division is expected to have a full field of talented drivers all vying for the 2017 title and will offer the fans a thrilling season of competition.

This Saturday (April 22), the speedway will host their annual Spring Dash Season Opener presented by O’Reilly auto Parts featuring the Modified Touring Series dueling it out for 125 laps along with Sportsman Modifieds, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Lightning Stocks, Thunder Stocks and Young Guns. The Modified Touring Series inaugural event was held at Monadnock Speedway last May with Ryan Preece taking down the victory. Preece will be returning to compete in the Spring Dash to defend his win last season.

The O’Reilly Auto Parts Spring Dash 125 green flag will be at 5pm starting with the heats races and then going right into the feature events. Pit gates open at 9:30 am for all MTS teams and 10:30 for Monadnock Speedway competitors. The main gate for general admission will open at 1:00 pm.
