ON-TRACK ACTION MARKS INDEPENDENCE WEEKEND STOCK CAR SHOW AT WALL STADIUM

The birthday of our nation will be the focus this Saturday Night (July 1) at Wall Stadium Speedway as enthusiasts will be rewarded with a 40-lap race for the Freehold Ford Modified stock cars and 25-lappers for the Snap On Sportsman racers, Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks, Elite Maintenance Limited Late Models and the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks. The touring TQ Midgets will also battle on the speedway’s inner oval in a 25-lap race. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. Main event racing will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Veterans and active military, with proper id, will be admitted free in honor of their service and the Independence Day weekend. In addition, Red White and Blue BBQ Night will feature a free bandana for fans while supplies last, special food items at the refreshment stands and country music on the public address system.

The Freehold Ford Modified Modified 40-lap main event is important in the race for the 2017 driving crown. Recent “Garden State Classic” champion Jimmy Blewett of Howell is on a hot streak, but he’ll see plenty of competition from Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Steven Reed of Jackson, Shaun Carrig of Little Falls, Adam LaCicero of Lavallette and Toms River’s Derek Hopkinson, just to name a few.

Pit gates will open at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday; with practice starting at 3:00 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying will start at 5:45 p.m. Main events for all divisions are scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months. Special events are also featured in the fall including the “Spooky Spectacular” in October and the season ending Turkey Derby on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend.
