A mere 18 points separates first and second, with one race to go. Who's your pick for the 2005 end of the year gold?

I gotta go with George Sprague on this one
Roger has pretty much acknowledged that is somewhat impossible to catch 'Gorgeous' George. Roger would have to finish 9 cars in front of him to tie; but still would lose on the tie-breaker. Sprague has more wins. So Maynor needs to finish 10 cars in front for the championship.
However, with only 14 cars or so running, what are the odds of that happening?
JA, when you vote, or just want to see the results of the vote, there is a broken link error message.
GOOD LUCK GEORGE!!!

LM #84
George Sprague.....#10...... Unless both the #10 & #28 bow their motors and # 85 Arne gets his 1st win.....LOL !!!
Always keep smiling !!!!!!!!!!
Roger's season has basically imploded in the last month or so. Sometimes luck just works out that way. Go #10!

I'd love to see Georgie win it for his Mom, one of the stongest ladies you will ever meet. Also one of the nicest families you will ever meet. Good Luck to you guys, in all you do.

There's nothing like an open wheel modified
Well for those who are interested, it looks like 2005 will crown 2 Figure 8 Champs. Looks like George will be the Track Champ and Roger will be the SAFER Champ 'cause George is not a SAFER member. And SAFER pays better than NASCAR and the track. And SAFER usually gives out beautiful trophies thanks to John Wellman.
Good luck to both.
"A View from theCrossroads" available at www.pkbooksinc.com, www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnoble.com. Look for "A View from the Crossroads" due out in August.
The championship S.A.F.E.R. crew chief will also receive a 2005 Championship jacket from Long Island Motorsports News (winner to be voted on by S.A.F.E.R. members).
SAFER, in my opinion, should put a portion of the money towards the champ. So if George wins the title, is it such a terrible thing to give him and his team at least a portion of the SAFER award? Member or not, George and his family have continued to support the figure 8 division, and bring a quality of racing to Riverhead Raceway.....kingpin!!!!!
I'm not a member of S.A.F.E.R., although I attend all the meetings that I can. The officers and members of S.A.F.E.R. raise money for their PRIVATE point fund through their own fund-raising efforts, which includes 50-50 at each monthly meeting and at each race. They also hold their own yearly raffle.
Personally, I like George a lot. But why should he be allowed to share in a private point fund that he had no part of helping to raise? George is very much aware of it, and agrees.
I also agree that George is a great contributor to Figure Eight racing on Long Island. However, by his own choice, he is not a member of S.A.F.E.R.
