Who will it be this year?
Who will it be this year?
With it being a time trial show figure on the half dozen or so that are capable of coming from the back to the front during a regular handicapped show. In no particular order, that would be:
00 Walkowiak
53 Arnold
22 Maliszewski
79 Wegmann
67 Okula
Add to that mix some cars that showed up randomly or late in the season but work well:
90 Langdon
72 Alt/Stock
16 Feola
However, if you are looking for just one, I'll take the 00.
00
90
22
53
88 (you may never know)
I do not like my pick with it being a time trial race. I will go with
00
90
53
79
22
good luck to all
Will there be a surprise visit from Malverty on Saturday??
Maybe he'll be flying up with Mark Gibbs???Originally Posted by LongIslandJam

Wouldn't mind seeing an all star race...
Gardner, Zwickel, McCort, Clancy, Cataldo, Frank Curtis, Hartman, Anthony88, Chirico, Malverty, Hubbard, McGarry, Cataldo, Sepi, Wildchild...
Back to reality...
1. 00
2. 22
3. 90
4. 4 (Pickerell)
5. 16 (Neil Jr.)
1-00
2-3
3-22
4-67
5-79
1. 90
2. 00
3. 22
4. 79

Who will set fast time this year?
Seeing who ends up being the top six in time is sometimes just as interesting as seeing who finishes the race up front. There are (or at least there USED to be) a few guys who are great in traffic and can consistently run up front, but who don't time trial well. It's possible that a couple of cars that start towards the middle - or even near the back - will finish in the top five. Should be interesting, as usual, to see whose equipment holds up as well...50 laps is a lot of abuse on equipment that has been getting beat on for the whole season already. Should be interesting, too, to see if Pickerell got rid of the "Champion's Curse" for good last year - prior to his showing last year, no one who had won the championship fared very well in the 50-lapper after capturing the title.
BTW, Poet, it might be interesting to throw a few other "old" faces - such as Mark Tooker, Kim Moore and Bill Kipp (hee hee) - into your race. I think I'd like to add a few "newer" faces to the lineup as well, but it would take some careful consideration to fill a 25-car field.

Hey Tracy, I would LOVE to run 50 laps, you know anyone with a car for this Saturday? I like old Impala's, but a Caddy would do... maybe next year...(sigh...)
Hey Poet, You could come to FL and take my car for 50 lapper. You are more than welcome to it. Could you imagine a Skunk in a Malverty car? I think it could finish up front. Good luck to all.
Poet, there's going to be a tough qualifying field for your race. I'd also like to see both Feola's, both Mujsce's, and the late, great Ted "Papa Smurf" Zelezny. Richie Gersbeck, too, what ever happened to that crazy S.O.B.?
