Saw some Karts on Hempstead Trpk this weekend. Where were you racing?

Coming home from picking up the wife's cake on Saturday afternoon, I saw two or three trucks towing home some karts. This was on Hempstead Turnpike, near Island Trees. Was there a race somewhere? I know some karts got to run at Mitchell Field last week during the Nostalgia weekend. But I had no idea there was any racing in Nassau County aside from that, or was this just a bunch of guys getting together in a parking lot? (Something in the "not in my backyard" feel of LI would make me think that would be unlikely.)

The Long Island Karting Association currently uses the Nassau Coliseum parking lot for kart racing... Good chance the karts you saw were members of "LIKA."

there is also a regional race I believe this weekend at Riverhead. Saturday and Sunday show.
