A beautiful weekend, sunny but a little cold, headlined the "world series" of enduro racing...............................
On the way to the big weekend of racing, I saw a sign on a funeral homes building that some of the drivers apparently didn't see......It read: Drive Carefully We'll Wait..........................
Over 175 cars and trucks stuffed themselves into the pits for a great two days of racing, it was a NEETS SRO affair...............
Most of the heat races turned into very competitive affairs with very little carnage in both the 4 and 8 cyl. classes, congrats to all the winners, they ran hard and deserved to start up front for the big race............
The "trux" contest was a thriller between John Cozza and Bobby Pease with the "Peaseman" taking the checkers after Cozza dropped out with a brush with the wall............................................
The night festivities continued with a surprise birthday party for the NEETS big guy himself, "skeletor" or as we all know him Billy B.........................
He D.J.'ed his own party with over 120 of his NEETS family in attendance dancing, eating and celebrating his 51st lap around the sun..............
Sunday arrived with much anticipation as Felix filled the drivers meeting with the sounds of RACIN, RACIN, RACIN...............................
The small cars charged onto the 1/3 mile oval and put on a super show in a race loaded with reds...........................
Way to go #61s Harry Sager, not only winning the race but clinching the championship, good races for the #30 of Joe Grocholski and #62 Luke Colleran.................................
The long awaited big car bigger bucks race started off with a bang and many costly red flags cut into the racing laps as the night grew darker and colder............................
The race was called after 151 laps because of a damaged guard rail on the front stretch with 5 of the top 15 cars having to pit if the race had continued, who knows what would have happened if the race went the distance.........................
What can you say about Ray Fitzgerald #16x four for four in NEETS contests this year, he is truly a remarkable enduro driver.....................
Excellent finishes by #124 Mark Spencer and the 2005 NEETS champ #41 Joe Jentile....................................
After all the damaged cars, the cold weather, the "busted steering wheels" hehe.............What makes all this worthwhile?.........Its YOU all my enduro brothers and sisters, the best people in my world.................
GOOD LUCK and see you at the Beaters....................
UNCLE PETEY..........................
