    timing belt

I'm running a 91 Eclipse in the 4 cylinder enduros and I'm worried about breaking the timing belt in a collision. Any idea if it would be legal to build a bracket of some sort to replace the factory timing belt cover that would keep the hood from hitting the belt? I'm not looking to do anything other than protect the belt.

As per the Rubberhead Raceway Web page:

    7. Everything on the car must remain stock. No cutting, chopping, channelling or building .

I see your concern and like your thinking. They were pretty nitpickey last year. PM me for a slightly different take.
