May you run without a tailgate? Mine is rusted pretty bad and I thought I'd check to see if I could just take it off.

At Riverhead you must have one. You should run one to hold the quarters together.

Rules state "doors/tailgate must be welded, bolted or chained shut"
Just make it so it doesn't fall off. I take it as the rear bed can not be opened where tailgate is. Secure the rusty one for now and get with me on April 1 for options for future races. Hope this helps.
